biography

French-German soprano Isabelle Müller-Cant discovered her love of singing during her intensive training with Chamber Singer Elke Estlinbaum and completed her vocal technique and Lieder studies at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, graduating with distinction. Numerous master classes with Barbara Bonney and Klesie Kelly and collaboration with renowned directors such as Frieder Bernius, Dieter Kurz and Helmuth Rilling, furnished important stimuli for her development.

Regular concert activity takes Isabelle Müller-Cant throughout Germany and abroad with the principal solo roles of the great oratorios, cantatas and masses and various Lieder recitals and she has been a guest artist at the Ludwigsburg and Schwetzingen Festivals. She collaborates closely with pianist Götz Payer, with whom she regularly performs Lieder recitals.

Various radio recordings (most recently in 2009 with the RSO Stuttgart and the SWR Vokalensemble under the direction of Rupert Huber), CD recordings and stage productions round out the soprano’s performance profile.

Isabelle Müller-Cant has dedicated herself to the training of young voices for many years, as well as to the vocal technique of various choirs. She instructs singers and ensembles (the SWR Vokalensemble, the State Opera Choir and the Childrens Choir of the Stuttgart State Opera) in French diction and has been on the faculty of the Musikhochschule Stuttgart since 2008.
